For over 20 years now, UDI Quebec has been working with governments and municipalities to represent the commercial real estate industry on issues of concern. Proactively involved in strategic research and analysis, UDI Quebec develops positions and proposes solutions based on an in-depth understanding of the commercial real estate industry and of the municipal and provincial legislative framework in which its members operate.

When required to make political representations on a specific issue, UDI Quebec always strive to make decision-makers aware of the dynamics and complexity of the real estate industry. In addition, UDI Quebec believes that proposing solutions that are constructive and beneficial for the industry and society as a whole is critical in the pursuit of our representation objectives.

UDI Quebec believe that the views of the commercial real estate industry should always be taken into account in the development, by the government and the municipalities, of any new public policy directly or indirectly impacting the industry in Quebec.

Two major principles have always guided the representations we make on behalf of the commercial real estate industry:

  1. Valuing existing assets;
  2. In deference to the first principle, implement conditions compatible with the operation of the industry and that promote real estate development.

Strategic analysis

UDI Quebec performs strategic research and analyses on the issues related to the political and economic environment surrounding the commercial real estate industry. Directly related to government relations, the research and analysis work seeks to define and synthesize the issues, identify paths for solution and consolidate the strategic positions developed by the committees.

Government relations

UDI Quebec positions itself as an intermediary between the various levels of government and the commercial real estate industry in the province. As the voice of the industry, UDI Quebec prioritizes the issues having an impact deemed to be important on the common interests of its membership. Strategic committees, made up of experts and representatives from the industry, are set up for each issue addressed.

Publications

Various information tools are produced by UDI Quebec for the exclusive benefits of its membership. In addition to the Real Estate Watch, a monthly e-bulletin providing information on current issues and trends, the association also publishes briefs, letters and releases detailing the strategic positions adopted in the conduct of the various files.
Members can access those publications in the Publications & resources of the website. Click here to join UDI Quebec.
